If you’ve found this page, you’re probably wondering what I’m all about. My name is Patrick Pentland. I have played guitar, sung, written, and produced music with Canadian rock icons Sloan for 23 years and counting. I have also written for various publications about music, entertainment, parenting, and general opinions about the world as I see it.

I am also the father of two kids, Marshall and Ivy, and my wife and I have another one on the way. Being a new father again in my mid-forties will no doubt be an adventure, and I plan to chronicle that, plus everything else of interest pertaining to parenting as a dad trying to stay as punk as possible – hence the title of the blog – living in the middle of the mosh pit known as parenthood.

I was born in Northern Ireland, raised in Nova Scotia (with a little time in Jamaica thrown in), and currently live in Toronto.
